Destination Maple Rock Farms Kennebunkport Maine Wedding Photographer - Phil&Emily

Traveling to Maine for Phil and Emily's destination wedding was something we had been looking forward to for so long! Emily grew up two hours from Kennebunk just outside of iconic Portland, Maine. She had always wanted her wedding guests to experience the beautiful coastal rocky cliffs she grew to love. As soon as we arrived and did our location scouting for photo spots, we quickly saw why Emily loved the oceanside Maine vibes so much! It is truly breathtaking and so peaceful.

Phil and Emily met a few years ago at their best friend’s wedding. They had both attended Biola University where Stephen went to college as well, but it wasn’t until after graduating that they connected. After college, Phil moved back to Chicago area, where he grew up, and Emily moved to Colorado to work at an adventure camp. At their best friend’s wedding, they were both in the bridal party and hit it off! Shortly after, they jumped into a long distance relationship before Emily moved out to Chicago. 

This was truly a destination wedding for us and all involved. Family and friends traveled from all over the country to be with these two and celebrate with them. Phil and Emily chose to get ready near the coast. After doing their first look, we drove a short distance to make sure to capture the iconic rocky Maine coastline Emily had always dreamed of. From there, we drove more inland to a secluded venue Maple Rock, where Phil and Emily were married overlooking the beautiful countryside of Maine. 

The forecast called for rain all day but miraculously it held back and we were able to do all their wedding portraits in the two different locations while staying dry. One spot with just Phil and Emily along the coast and one spot back with their wedding party back at their wedding venue under the trees of Maine before it started to rain. It started to rain just before the ceremony and guests flowed into the elegant barn fully decorated with greenery from Emily’s florist. The barn was warm and cozy indoors and created such a unique atmosphere that everyone enjoyed. 

Stephen grew up with Phil back in his Wheaton, Illinois days, so this wedding was extra special for us! We were so honored that Phil and Emily thought of us for their wedding photography and videography. These two were so easy going and completely trusted us the whole entire wedding planning process. Emily is so sweet and an amazing listener. She is super intentional with people around her. Phil is so clever, funny, and an incredibly smart scientist. He has our vote for most likely to cure cancer in his lifetime (no joke)! Together, they make an incredible team that will be unstoppable. They both bring so much joy and beauty to the world.
