A few weeks ago, Stephen and I were in Portland, Maine for a very exciting destination wedding for one of our TréCreative couples. Although we would have loved to stay longer, our day and a half of sight seeing and exploring the beautiful state of Maine was just what we needed. The wedding we were originally there for was perfect and after sleeping in the next day, we started by grabbing coffee and then we were off!

We flew into Portland and then drove about 20 minutes to Kennebunk and Kennebunkport Maine. Kennebunk is a super quaint little fishing town right on the water. That's where our bride and groom were getting ready so we did location scouting in that part of Maine the day before the wedding. We had lunch at the Clam Shack when we first got in and it was delicious.

During most of our sight seeing time in Portland, we just barely scratched the surface on the places to go. We first drove to one of the historic lighthouses called Portland Head Lighthouse. That area is beautiful and right near a huge state park that you could easily walk around in for hours.

From there, we drove down to Old Town Portland and walked around the shops for a while and even ate some delicious potato donuts from The Holy Donut. We decided to walk down to the main boating area and see if we could catch a Ferry to one of the neighboring Islands. We ended up taking a short boat ride to Peaks Island and had the best of time there. We rented a golf cart and drove around the island stopping whenever to take photos. it was the perfect mode of transit for us. Stephen had fun driving the cart and I enjoyed being outdoors and taking lots of photos. We ended our evening getting a quick drink at one of the few restaurants on the island before taking the ferry back for dinner.

I only took my film camera on these excursions for travel photos which was really fun. I always come back so in love with how my scans turn out!
