TréCreative Tips&Tricks - Wedding Day Details

One of our most anticipated parts of the wedding day is actually just arriving. It's the start to spending the day with our couples, meeting their extended families, and celebrating with them as they become husband and wife. When we arrive, we quickly introduce ourselves, give our TréBride a big hug and collect all her little details to start photographing or filming them.

In our last meeting about a month or so before the wedding day, we always remind our couples to place all their details in one separate area for us to collect. This could include a shoe box or tote bag filled with our bride's jewelry, invitation suite, perfume, garter, or any other specific bridal details they would want photographed during the morning time. We've seen this work so well over and over again. It eliminates having to spend precious time gathering all these items from different places all over the room and points us in the exact direction to find the details all in one place.

As we share about life, our home and our couples, our goal has been to always educate our current TréCreative family along the way, but also others brides getting married. For this installment of TréCreative Tips&Tricks, we're sharing about having extra styling items along with your wedding details ready to go in the bridal getting ready location. This may sound a bit confusing at first, but let us explain. When we're photographing your details and throughout the whole wedding day, we're keeping in mind your wedding vision, your theme and style. If your wedding is filled with bright colors, then we want to make sure your bridal details have bright colors in them. If you're getting married in the country and wearing cowgirl boots, we want to incorporate different rustic elements into those details.

We always encourage our brides to bring along different elements from or that relate to their wedding day. Giving us extra flowers from the centerpieces, or handing us some left over ribbon you used to decorate the reception with can go so far to helping style your details. Having details that are perfectly styled makes for a cohesive gallery or wedding album where everything ties together just perfectly!

Another popular item we've seen all over Instagram is the Mrs. Box. Stephen actually gave me one of these for our recent anniversary and I wish I had it back when we were married! This is a perfect way to incorporate your wedding colors into your details in an elegant and timeless manner. Not only our your wedding ring is precious but now you'll have another family heirloom you can pass down. Check out the Mrs. Box for sure if you haven't heard of them, I want one in every color!!

Several of the weddings we've recently photographed, our brides have brought along such fun details to getting ready for us to incorporate into our detail shots. Vintage tea cups, trays or even lace from their reception. Having these items present and available to us is wonderful!! It allows us to shoot those elements into your pictures and video, capturing the vision of her wedding day we know every bride wants to see. In this blog post are some favorite detail photos from last weekend's wedding (below) and a wedding we photographed back in January (above). Lyndsey and Jaclyn brought with them gorgeous vintage silver trays for us to style on. Both brides used tea cups and silver all throughout their wedding reception so these extra styling products were a perfect fit for them! Now when they look through their photos you can see their vision from start to finish and we love getting to capture that for them. We totally know some brides care more about the details than others, and it's our job to capture the whole wedding, not just certain elements. However, the brides that have given us these extra pieces love seeing it all come together (and so do we)!

So when your prepping your detail box for your photographer for the morning of your wedding, include a few extra pieces, like your lipstick, or grandmother's silver serving tray. You might be surprised how we can incorporate those into your photos :D
