Mission Santa Clara Wedding Photographer - José&Laura

We first met José&Laura in person at Zach&Tana’s destination wedding last year in Mexico. They were newly engaged and we had just met with them to talk about their own wedding happening the following year. One of the first things you will notice about these two is their joy and contagious smiles. After talking with them, you immediately feel like an old friend who is always welcome in their presence. Not everyone has that affect on people and we think this is a great character quality they both exemplify but also share as a couple.

José&Laura were married at the beautiful Mission Santa Clara on the Santa Clara University campus. Laura had graduated from Law school at Santa Clara and after getting engaged knew she wanted to get married on the beautiful property.

Laura got ready at her parents beautiful home, close to Santa Clara where we did the couple's first look and wedding portraits. Laura’s friends and family are just as joyful and sweet to be around as she is. Right before Laura slipped into her dress, she read a sweet note José had written her which quickly needed a tissue box to accompany the love note.

There were endless portrait locations around Santa Clara. There was a mix of beautiful architecture and lush green gardens that we took photos in before heading inside the beautiful historic church where José&Laura were married.

One thing we’ll never forget about this wedding was when the Priest was giving the homily and sharing with those in attendance different pieces of José&Laura’s relationship. He shared about having a dream with José&Laura in it. In that dream, they were sitting in rocking chairs with gray hairs in their old age. What we loved about that story is everyone in attendance could picture these two someday at that place in their life. Happly married, hand in hand sitting on the porch exchanging jokes with one another. Whenever we take photos of our couples, I always love to say “smile, this ones for the grandkids”. José&Laura are starting their legacy as a married couple filled with contagious joy that will no doubt bring others happiness for years to come.

After a beautiful ceremony, we headed to Villa Regusa for their indoor ballroom reception. After beautiful toasts and a delicious plated dinner, dancing began. José&Laura know how to get everyone on the dance floor! The floor was packed the entire time with family and friends celebrating with these two.
