On the peaceful windy road into Villa AIX in Healdsburg, CA you’ll pass wineries painted with rolling hills of vineyards. The scene is something out of a dream. Enter a small gravel driveway and you’ll discover this beautiful venue, tucked in behind tower ancient trees above. The center of the property is the main house where Sarah&Ryan started their day. Above the house, is the lawn where they were married, and right below the cocktail hour space and reception where they danced the night away!

It was 2014, we had just received one of those emails that makes you stop you in your tracks. It felt like this could be a big pivotal shift in our business. It was an honor alone that this company had even found us and was even considering hiring us for this grand project.
Over the weekend, we traveled to San Diego where we were WEDDING GUESTS for the first time in over a year. Most of our close friends are already married so there haven’t been many friends weddings we’re participating in lately. Being in the wedding industry for almost six years now, attending as a “guest” feels a little funny. Let us explain!
We are so excited to share with you Ryan and Jessica’s Sonoma engagement session. Since they booked us a few months ago, we have been so looking forward to getting to know them more. They are both from Sonoma County and picked the most amazing locations for their engagement photos. When we initially Skyped with them, they had already expressed that they had thought about engagement photos and had great locations in mind. We could have easily done their whole photo session at one of the amazing three locations they chose, they were each just that good!
Ishaan&Katelyn’s story starts in the Midwest. Ishaan was working at GE Aviation when a new hire showed up. During a work outing to Cedar Point Amusement Park, Ishaan just so happened to be the driver and Katelyn rode shotgun. Katelyn was blown away by how nice Ishaan was, she was really impressed by this welcoming committee from work. Little did she realize, Ishaan wasn’t going on all the rides with her because he was supposed to be nice to the newcomer, he had an instant crush on her!
In Katelyn’s words, “we started hanging out, and hanging out turned into dating.”
It felt natural and just flowed. Katelyn didn’t realize their first date was a date until Ishaan pulled up in front of a fancy steakhouse. It became a bit more obvious then! It was hilarious to hear family members like Katelyn’s sister recap phone conversations with Katelyn during this time.
“We continued spending time together and getting to know each other, and eventually, we fell in love.”
Our favorite little family is on the blog once again this time for this Fall portrait photography session. The Bryan family is very near and dear to our hearts. They were one of the first TréCreative couples EVER and since have been some of the biggest supporters we have. Plus little Calvin has the most adorable baby blues we’ve ever seen 😀
Christmas at the TréCrib doesn’t seem complete until we head about 45 minutes up Highway 32 to our favorite woodsy Christmas Tree area near Butte Meadows. This will be our fourth year in a row driving up with friends for this grand adventure! Our Christmas Tree Adventures in Butte Meadows always consists of getting all bundled up, packing into four-wheel drive cars and heading deep into the woods to find the perfect Christmas Trees for our homes. This year was yet another huge success!!
Zach&Tana planned the most amazing destination Mexico wedding in Puerto Vallarta at the Vidanta Resort. In attendance were 100 of their closest friends and family who traveled from afar to celebrate during the whole week leading up to their wedding. To have that many guests travel to a destination wedding really says a lot about the loyalty and character of Zach&Tana!
Ryan&Caitlin currently live in Idaho and flew in around Thanksgiving for their engagement session. Caitlin grew up just a town over from Chico and has always loved the look of Upper Bidwell Park right near Monkey Face. Fall colors are always so beautiful to photograph, but there is something so unique about the tall grass in Upper Park. The area’s Caitlin mentioned for photos, just so happened to be some of our own personal favorite locations in Chico.
The Holidays are some of our favorite times of year spent with each other and our families. That often means for us, less travel, fewer meals out and more time at home. Since purchasing our home, we affectionally call the TreCrib, we’ve been the ones hosting both our families the last two years. After a lot of travel these past few weeks, my mom stepped up and mention her interest in hosting this year. As much as we love hosting people in our home, it was perfect to just show up with our food contribution in hand and just enjoy the company.
