Bay Area Photography&Videography Workshop - The Vivify Workshop 2016
Last year, we had the huge honor of teaming up with Mariée Wedding to help facilitate and organize The Vivify Workshop!
The workshop creates a space for any level photographer or videographer to collaborate with others and shoot amazing, high-end, styled vignettes around the property. It's also an opportunity for some awesome vendors to "show off" collaborating to create some amazing details for everyone to shoot. Stephen and I were the lead photographers and videographers which meant we were there to help others if they had any questions regarding running a business or about shooting. Although we do offer private mentoring sessions from time to time, it was fun for us to assist and cheer on so many creatives all in one place! We SO wish when we were just starting out to have had an opportunity like this to build our portfolio and to connect with other photographers in the industry for support and community!
Being in the photography and videography industry, we have learned the importance of community within our industry peers. You need people to relate to and bounce ideas back and forth. We know what it’s like to struggle with this and not know who to look to. Now that we have an amazing group of friends who are photographers and videographers locally and around the world, we’ve realized how important this community aspect can be! Our goals with this workshop is not financial gain, to spread our name, or any of that. We honestly just want to see others succeed and to help pass along any information that was given to us in our time building up TréCreative. This workshop is exclusively open to photographers and videographers and was designed to harbor creativity, community, and to help photographers and videographers of all levels expand their business.
We’ve seen it first hand. Workshops and collaborative events like this can be so beneficial for creatives! We’re firm believers in “showing what you want to shoot” and this is a great way to kickstart that aspect of your portfolio. If you’re wanting to shoot high-end weddings with gorgeous details, it’s crucial to have a portfolio that appeals to these clients. Showing what you want to shoot on your website attracts brides who value having similar weddings!
Collaborating with others can bring new life to your creativity and that’s why we love the name Vivify. It means to bring life to something. We truly think this workshop will bring new life to many photographer's and videographer's businesses! We specifically designed this workshop to be very relaxed and open-ended to hopefully give space for photographers to network with each other and vendors, all while building their portfolio full of those amazing details. There will be couples and solo bridal models who will join us for the shoot, all styled by talented professionals of course! There will be many different “shooting stations” set up with different themes available for shooting as well so photographers and videographers can leisurely roam around the brand new wedding venue in downtown Sunol California, Casa Bella.
We're also beyond exited for this year's workshop because Stephen and I will be teaching a short breakout session beforehand on bride and groom posing and client experience. Refining our posing techniques has truly elevated our client experience to a whole new level. We're stoked to share this information with all who choose to add this breakout session to their Vivify experience.
As a refresher, here are some bits of information regarding this year's workshop:
The date & time: November 6th from 12-5p
From 12-1p we will offer the class, followed by a group lunch at 1:30p. From 2:30p-5p there will be open shooting.
Location of the workshop: Casa Bella in Downtown Sunol, California (Located between Pleasanton and Fremont)
This is the BRAND NEW venue opening this fall from Nella Terra. The Vivify Workshop will be one of the first events on site, which means you will get first access to some pretty amazing things. You will also have access to downtown Sunol.
