Ryan and Caitlin were married in the mountains up Highway 70, just past Portola at the most romantic wedding venue hidden away under a canopy of trees, Chalet View Lodge. Many people find this venue when searching for places to get married in Reno, however this Northern California wedding venue is quickly becoming a well known California Wedding Destination and retreat center and we were so excited to travel there for this wedding. We love forest wedding venues like Chalet View Lodge because it feels like you’re at a peaceful retreat center in the mountains and being surrounded by nature is so relaxing. Wedding guests are all welcome to stay in on site lodging, cabins or in the chalet style hotel for the weekend. This makes the entire wedding weekend a great destination getaway for guests.

The Thompsons

Ryan and Caitlin are amazing people. After getting to know them at their Chico engagement session, the anticipation for meeting the rest of their family only grew. We met Caitlin’s parents randomly at a restaurant in town not too long after. They were so warm and friendly, we had no doubts it’d be a beautiful and stress-free wedding day!

As soon as we arrived at Chalet View Lodge, we were greeted with open arms at Villa 2 where Caitlin was getting ready with both moms and bridesmaids. Shortly after Caitlin slipped into her dress, she shared a first look with her dad. This nearly brought everyone to tears in the room! It set the stage for a night filled with celebration and love.

These two are great friends. They are genuine, kind and funny and mesh so well together. It’s hard to imagine them without thinking of the other as the perfect compliment!

Autumn Theme - A Wedding in the Woods

We love how much thought and detail Ryan and Caitlin put into their autumn inspired wedding look. From the gorgeous burgundy and blush floral arrangements, the creams and corals. Their florist did an amazing job helping all the colors to flow so well and fit the woodsy atmosphere perfectly. They had a clear tent to keep the warmth in and a candlelight dinner with long family style tables adorned with florals and decor. Everything was breathtaking. We loved how Ryan&Caitlin personalized guest’s experiences and everything came together in a breathtaking display!
