The California wedding venue is in the small town of Graeagle in Northern California. This venue has become a well known destination venue and retreat center and we were so excited to travel there for this wedding. The venue feels like you’re at a retreat center in the mountains and it’s so peaceful. Guests are all welcome to stay in cabins or in the lodge for the weekend making the wedding a fun destination location for everyone.

Alana loves the holidays. She loves this season for many reasons including spending extended time with family and going ice skating on the very rink Ben was planning on proposing. We had the date and time set and so excited to be in on this amazing surprise.

They graciously agreed to be in front of the camera. I’m sure they were just as nervous as we were because we barely knew how to pose someone let along make them feel comfortable in front of the camera. To take it back even further, they were our first couple friends when we both started dating in high school. We’d go on adventures, double dates and dream about life post-high school. They were both in our wedding, we photographed their engagement and wedding.

Read MoreWe met James and Liv in downtown Sacramento for their engagement photo session. We traveled to several iconic places in the city and ended in their own neighborhood in Oak Park. We started their session on a bike path near Old Town Sacramento and the Tower Bridge. This tandem bike they rode together has so much character! We probably made them ride up and down the path what seemed like a million times to make sure we had gotten the perfect shots of this bike in action.
