Zack&Lisa were married at a private estate in Orland. They had their ceremony and reception overlooking the venue’s gorgeous lake. While Lisa was getting ready with some of her closest friends in the house,Zack spent time with his groomsmen on another part of the property. Lisa chose such an incredibly wedding dress from AE Bridal with beautiful lace details throughout and on the sleeves. Her dress made me want to get married all over again! She was such a stunning bride and we loved capturing their lovely day through photography!

The couple opted to do a first look so we were able to take the majority of their portraits ahead of the ceremony. This left lots of room for mingling with guests during cocktail hour. Bridal party met us in the family Gator ATVs which Stephen and I had a blast driving around the property. Right after bridal party photos were taken, the clouds rolled in and we had the most perfect lighting around the lake. The lighting was so amazing, we couldn’t help but squeeze in some extra portraits of the couple!

We are so glad we did too, because 30 minutes before the ceremony started it started pouring, like literally a torrential downpour!! As guests ran to shelter underneath the tent we stepped inside to check on Lisa. Although rain is never what a bride wants to see on her wedding day, Lisa had a calm collectiveness about her as the rain poured on. One of the things we’ve loved about Zack&Lisa as we've gotten to know them is how laid back and relatable they are. They expressed multiple times throughout the wedding process how they just wanted everyone to enjoy themselves and have an amazing evening together. And that is just what happened. With a quick change of plans from their wedding coordinator, the ceremony only started a tiny bit later. The rain cleared just in time, and the sun came out and everyone pitched in to dry chairs and get the venue ready again for the ceremony. After the rain stopped, we had the perfect cloud coverage during the ceremony and a beautiful sunset afterwards over the lake. It could not have been more perfect!
