Jack London State Park Wedding Photos - Mike&KK
Jack London State Park has a beautiful landscape for anyone from your avid hiker to history buffs, to those who just wants to admire the scenic overviews. The state park is also very near and dear to Mike&KK!
The couple got ready down the road from Jack London State Park at KK's parent's home in the little town of Glen Ellen in Sonoma Valley. KK was with her mom, sister and closest friends, many of whom she went to college with. Mike arrived shortly after with his groomsmen and got ready in the quaint cottage next door. This home was the perfect getting ready location! There was plenty of room and lots of natural clean white light, a photographer's dream when photographing the getting ready portion of the day!
After Mike&KK shared a first look in the yard that KK has built so many fond memories, KK had a very big surprise up her sleeve for Mike. From their San Francisco engagement session, we learned how much Mike loves to surf. KK had purchased a brand new surfboard for Mike and as she turned the corner holding the new board, Mike was in total shock! Way to go KK, that was such an amazing and personal gift to give your groom!
Mike&KK have such an elegant style. KK later in the day would walk down the aisle in the same dress worn by her mother and grandmother before on their own wedding days.
It's no doubt that KK&Mike stand for legacy. These moments of love that turn into forever.
Jack London State Park also plays a part in this legacy. It was a place KK's grandfather hiked around, and when she was a little girl where she also adventured around the trails! After the ceremony, the same area was flipped into the reception space for guests to enjoy a delicious plated dinner under the twinkle lights.
Amazing speeches were given by KK's father, sweet sister and Mike's brother. Mike is in the real estate business and actually works for the same company as KK's father. That's how the couple initially met. One of our favorite lines said in speeches was by KK's sister Cam. She looked at her beautiful sister and new husband she exclaimed, "Raise a glass everyone. Mike this is the best deal you've ever closed." The guests were roaring with cheers and laughter. The party started off with first dances followed by lots of open dancing to the live band that played!
Thank you Mikey&KK for inviting us to be a part of your special day! The legacy of love you are surrounded by is so humbling and inspiring! Can't wait to see what new adventure you two embark on :D
