A few weeks ago, Stephen and I were in Portland Maine for a very exciting destination wedding for one of our TréCreative couples. Although we would have loved to stay longer, our day and a half of sight seeing and exploring the beautiful state of Maine was just what we needed. The wedding we were originally there for went off without a hitch and after sleeping in the next day, we started grabbing coffee.
Read MoreLeft unattended, a vine will spend all it’s energy extending its branches. It will keep going until it literally has no energy left to produce leaves much less fruit. If you find a 20ft grape vine you’ll notice the first few feet may have fruit, then you’ll see leaves, and the end is all stick. A grapevine becomes a stick tree if it’s over extended. If you don’t prune the branch all the way back to it’s fruitfulness, then the vines capacity to produce fruit will be spent only to grow sticks.

Early in our marriage, I was shocked that so many people had this viewpoint of working with their spouse. The longer I’ve been married, the more realization of how rare this can be done well. Marriage is hard enough by itself, and yet adding a working partner can cause even more complications.

Read MoreIn just a few months, March to be exact, we’ll be celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary! We made a commitment when we got married that each year at least once, we would get in front of the camera. Whenever we have our yearly travel planned out, if everything aligns, we take advantage of having these photos taken all over the United States. Last year, we took them in Charleston, and this year while we were in New Orleans for The Rising Tide Leaders Retreat, we had them taken by our friend and talented photographer, Lauren Swann!
