Best Places to See in Paris - A Destination Wedding Photographer from California's Perspective

We are so excited to share with you our trip to Paris! Every-time I look at these photos, I am immediately filled with so much nostalgia from our trip. We had the most amazing time together that was filled with adventure and lots of rest. We booked this trip about six months out knowing it would be the end of our wedding season in California. As much as I am a planner, we didn’t really plan much until we landed in Paris. We had an idea of what we wanted to do but the first night we were there, we planned out our week. We hit a lot of touristy spots first like the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Palace of Versailles. Afterwards, we felt a little touristed out, so we decided to wander in some of our favorite neighborhoods and discover some hidden non-touristy gems. Our routine consisted of waking up, finding a new coffee shop, wandering through the neighborhoods for photo adventures and discovering delicious food along the way.

As we look back on 2018, we are filled with so much gratitude in our hearts. We’re beyond grateful for every wedding, every newborn session, and every commercial client we’ve been given the opportunity to create a legacy for. Butte Meadows Christmas Adventure 2018 - Chico Photographer

This was our annual Christmas Tree hunting adventure that we have been doing the past several years. You can see past blog posts here and here. A group of friends of ours always plans to go up the first weekend in December to cut down our Christmas Tree. This was a tradition my family did when I was growing up and I looked forward to playing in the snow each year with my brothers. After my family switched to an artificial tree in high school, the tradition picked back up again in college with friends.

Monthly Memorable Monday - October 2018

Happy October! I can’t believe September has now come and gone. It feels like we’ve blinked and the month is completely over. Pumpkin everything is in the air and I’m looking forward to all the beautiful leaves starting to change here in Northern California where we live. In years past, October has stayed relatively warm up until Halloween. As I’m sitting here writing this, we just had our first small rain storm which I’m SO happy about! Both Stephen and I prefer colder weather where we can bundle up and not be sweating all the time. This is especially true on wedding days.

Mendocino Area Vacation Suggestions - Destination Photographer

A few weeks ago Stephen and I were in Mendocino for a beautiful wedding on the coast at the Heritage House Resort. The wedding took place overlooking the cliffs and had the most spectacular views. Like most of our personal work, we only brought our medium format film camera. This time in particular, we chose only to shoot on our new Hasselblad so I could get used to using it faster for our newborn sessions. This camera is super fun as it’s all manual, has no batteries or anything. It shoots in a unique 6x6 square format which is fun and creatively challenging.
